The delay behind the PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIV has been explained.
Producer Hiromichi Tanaka said that memory differences between the PC and PS3 made a simultaneous release difficult.
"The main reason was the memory. On the PC, they have enormous memory. For PS3, there’s a restriction," he told VG247.
"They are adjusting the memory size and customising it; it took longer then we were expecting. But we’re really working hard to bring it out as soon as possible."
The PC version will receive an open beta next month and a full release on September 30.
PlayStation 3 users can expect the game from March 2011.
